this is also a shellac burn….and I think pretty successful…but the photo is a bit blurry…I was really trying to get the distance thing going…on a 12″x12″ board this is not easy…skies are so much fun to ‘create’…I put the paint down and then blow away and tilt the board this way and that until the clouds please me…I wish everything was this easy…just some heat and tilt…

This is good to have to say something…actually this one I was playing with contrasting colors…not trees and water and sky…GOD plays with that!!!!I play with wax

now doesn’t this make you feel calm? well, up close and personal you’d just have to touch this! I LOVE WAX! I was trying to create the illusion of distance…I think it works here

Now we are talking…this is a 12″x16″ and is truly so exciting…texture and bumps and lumps…threw in the color just to keep you looking…but you’d have to touch this one..yup…just gotta do it…and that is the beauty of wax..it WANTS to be touched…to be experienced for what it is..what it brings to the table…a lot like some people…and some people like to be looked at under glass…I was thinking how proud I was at my 60th birthday party and all the things people said about me on the video that Onae put together…no one said that they loved me because I was perfect…because I did everything ‘right’…that I was pretty or smart or skinny…or because of my hair…thank goodness the things I think about a lot do not take over my life/my relationships…thank goodness that is not the legacy I have created…maybe these paintings are…

yup!!! the ole red poppies in the foreground trick…effective when what you really wanted to do is paint those three blue trees…and the sky..oh to do clouds like a blow torch…I think that is like GOD’s breath!!! the inhale and exhale..a.nd sometimes GOD has a cold..or sneezes…or burps!

so you tell me…is this about texture/composition or color? or are we still thinking I am painting landscapes????

sO WE FOUR…I outlined these images with red because …they needed that…but the background…or the truth is I felt the horses were the background…did this work?

so I grew up with horses…I like their shapes, their smells, their eyes..the way they like to be together…and they are not like redwing black birds…falling out of the sky…so this painting has little to do with horses and mostly about what they are standing in….LOTS OF WAX
