My favoitest thing about painting is just this…the wonderful things that happen when I apply heat…if you can make this close up you will see the detail created by the heat…it is exciting..and uncontrollable
like other important functions in our lives

Didn’t those redwing black birds falling out of the sky bother you? I meanm they (the scientists) rushed to an explanation to explain by saying it happens ALL THE TIME…has it ever been brought to your attention in THIS lifetime…strange I am telling you …strange…so this is all about that…STRANGE…I AM TELLING YOU…and smooth

Close up of the girl in the box..who is she?

Started this as knots…well, after lots of layering of wax and scraping…and that was not enough…how often do I start out with an idea and it just flat out is not enough…well…in the box I put a transfered (the rub process) of a painting of a girl I had done …so now I have created meaning..you figure it out

so is this a cow…or WAX? gotcha!

I started this with the crusiform composition…who knew that you could start with such an idea? how do you lead the eye on the board to a place…and then engage the brain/emotions into staying there…trying to make sense…trying to be FED something that will nuture its very existence…the brain, I think, likes complexity..likes to be surprized…likes to create meaning out of chaos…THAT is what this is about!

The freedom to create without explanation…I could be a really adequate golfer…on my tombstone they will put “died with potential”…but there is no freedom in golf…one ball/one hole…one score card…with painting well…the challenge to create something that has never been born on this earth..well, that is freedom…now IF that works…well that is ART!

This is a blurry blog…THAT will be this painting’s name…when I turn my paintings into the gallery that represents me …Silver Fox in Hendersonville North Carolina…GOD bless Bonnie!…well, she says the paintings need titles…so I think when I create I am not coming from that part of my essence so I get confused with naming them…I am not confused when I paint them

what do you look at first in this painting? it is really about the two white lines talking to each other…sometimes we dont really know what people are talking about..they say I like your outfit and really they MEAN ‘why did you wear that?” they say “I am sorry” when they MEAN “You dont understand me”

SO IF YOU WERE GOING TO DO THIS MELODY OF COLORS would you put a small rectangle of white at the bottom…no? me neither but Sophia did…so this is called ‘SOPHIA’S EDGE”
