Abstracts
Painting abstracts is a relatively new form of expression for Sue and her first adventure began with trying to capture the energy of the volcano that erupted in Iceland in 2011. After that was the Tsunami that devastated Japan in 2011, followed by the tornadoes in Joplin, Kansas. She found that by “settling” into the energy of the event she was able to use color, form and movement to turn chaos into a creative expression of order. Since then, Sue listens to music or responds to the powerful energy of nature to create small or large (up to 36’) canvases to capture the essence of that abstract sense of feeling.
